Bus Transfers To and From Kansas City Airport

On-airport Shuttle Buses

Kansas City International Airport offers an on-airport shuttle bus system so travelers can easily transfer between the terminals and the parking lots. Buses operate 24/7.

The buses are wheelchair lift equipped and can be lowered for easier access to the loading steps.

The Red Bus – services the Circle Parking Lots and the airport’s terminals every 15-20 minutes. When the Red Bus isn’t operating the Blue Bus services the Red Bus route. The Red Bus stops at the bus stops located outside each terminal. They are marked with overhead signs and can be found curbside.

The Blue Bus – services the Economy Parking Lots and the airport’s terminals every 20 minutes. The Blue Bus stops at all the covered shelters. Bus stops at the terminals can be found curbside outside the terminals with overhead signs marking the location.

Kansas City Public Buses

RideKC provides a bus service, route #229, between central Kansas City and Kansas City International Airport Terminal C.

Travel time is 50 minutes from departure to arrival at the other end.

The fare is $1.50 with the reduced fare for eligible youths, seniors and persons with disabilities at $0.75. Buses accept cash, in the fareboxes, and 31-Day Bus Passes. Fareboxes only accept exact change. If you can insert exact change the driver can issue a change card that holds the credit of the amount over the amount of the fare. Make sure to let the driver know before inserting any money into the farebox if a change card is wanted.

First departure is at 4:00 AM and the last at 9:30 PM with departures at least once an hour throughout the day.

First departure is at 4:55 AM and the last at 10:50 PM with departures at least once an hour throughout the day.

Shuttle Bus Companies

There are many shuttle bus companies available for reservations for transfer to or from different areas around Kansas City. Some shuttle companies also offer no reservation services directly at the airport for walk-up customers.
