All rental car companies at Kansas City Airport are conveniently located in the rental car facility located on airport grounds. A Gray Rental Car Shuttles stops at marked shelters at the terminal medians for travelers to transfer between the terminal of arrival and the rental car facility, or from the facility to the terminal of departure. Some of the rental car companies available are Alamo, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, Payless and Thrifty to name a few.

Public Transport at Kansas City International Airport

Public transport company RideKC offers bus transfers through route #229 that services Kansas City and the airport with departures in both directions at least once an hour from early morning to late evening.

For the visitor the most convenient way of paying the fare is in exact change in the farebox on the bus. If exact change isn’t an option make sure to tell the driver before entering any money into the farebox for a card holding the change to be used at a different occasion.

The fare for a single one-way journey is $1.50. Reduced fare is $0.75, available for seniors, youths and disabled persons that are eligible.

Taxis at Kansas City International Airport

Taxicabs can be found outside the terminal exits or ordered using one of the many courtesy phones available in the baggage claim areas and outside the terminals. The operator will need to know the exact point of your location to allocate a taxi to the correct location.

Taxi drivers are required to accept all rides no matter the length. It will take approximately 25 minutes and cost around $50 to transfer by taxi from Kansas City Airport to downtown Kansas City, depending on the traffic.
